The Prodigal Son
(Luke 15: 11-32) The road home was longer than he remembered. When he last travelled it, he turned heads because of his lifestyle. If he turned heads this time it was because of his stink. But that didn't bother him, it didn't stop him, because for the first time in a calendar of heartaches, he had a clear conscience. A Merry Heart Is Good Medicine!
It is true that a merry heart won't set a broken bone in place, or instantly cure a fever, and yet it is a good medicine at almost all times. Cheerful people, who don't pull long faces, and don'think always about their pains, really get better much faster than doleful people do, and a merry heart will help in many cases where no medicine is of use.
