The Prodigal Son

(Luke 15: 11-32) The road home was longer than he remembered. When he last travelled it, he turned heads because of his lifestyle. If he turned heads this time it was because of his stink. But that didn't bother him, it didn't stop him, because for the first time in a calendar of heartaches, he had a clear conscience. He was going home "GIVE ME" had been replaced with "HELP ME", and his defiance had been replaced with repentance.... (posted by PEN OF READY WRITER 2 years 204 days ago.)
Night-Time

Have you ever thought to yourself when laying your head on your pillow during your sleeping hours, that night-time is just the shadow of this world, which stretches out on the other side of the earth opposite the sun, like a great conical cap, thousands of miles broad at its base, but tapering , till it is no bigger than a 50 pence piece, and at last until it is fine as a camel-hair brush? A Merry Heart Is Good Medicine!

It is true that a merry heart won't set a broken bone in place, or instantly cure a fever, and yet it is a good medicine at almost all times. Cheerful people, who don't pull long faces, and don'think always about their pains, really get better much faster than doleful people do, and a merry heart will help in many cases where no medicine is of use. It is not only good for a bout of idigestion, it does good even in... (posted by PEN OF READY WRITER 2 years 204 days ago.)
"The Qualifications of a Good Father!"

This question has always been at the back of my mind, as a Christian - especially as the Holy Bible tells me, I'm the seed of Abraham, who is still known today as the 'Father to all nations' . After many years of pastoring people from all nations of the world, of various ethnic backgrounds and cultures - young and old, I truly believe a goood Father should have these qualifications....... "A good Father... (posted by PEN OF READY WRITER 5 years 251 days ago.)
